The good folks over at Project Veritas this week published leaked documents from an FBI whistleblower that draw an explicit connection between “Militia Violent Extremists” [MVEs] and Second Amendment advocates.
The documents, which say “FBI Internal Use Only,” are designed to educate agents on what to look for when they are investigating potential MVEs.
Under the category of “Symbols” is the “2A,” and is described thus, “MVEs justify their existence with the Second Amendment, due to the mention of a ‘well regulated Militia,’ as well as the right to bear arms,” states the document.
First, they say they won’t take your guns. Then they pass a bill to take your guns.
Next, they say they’ll reduce inflation. Then they introduce a bill that will raise inflation.
Finally, they promise they won’t raise taxes. And what are they doing? Raising taxes.

The “Gadsden Flag” is found under the “Commonly Referenced Historical Imagery and Quotes” section with the caption, “Historical American symbol representing gun rights and limited government,” the document points out.
However, there is the following caveat in bold, “The use or sharing of these symbols alone should not independently be considered evidence of MVE presence or affiliation, or serve as an indicator of illegal activity, as many individuals use these symbols for their original historic meaning or other non-violent purposes.”
The leak docs come on the heels of a letter written by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) that accuses the FBI of reclassifying cases of “domestic violent extremism” (DVEs) to increase the numbers, per a Fox News report.
“From recent protected disclosures, we have learned that FBI officials are pressuring agents to reclassify cases as ‘domestic violent extremism’ even if the cases do not meet the criteria for such a classification,” wrote Jordan in a letter sent to FBI Director Chris Wray last Wednesday.
“Given the narrative pushed by the Biden administration that domestic violent extremism is the ‘greatest threat’ facing our country, revelation that the FBI may be artificially padding domestic terrorism data is scandalous,” he continued.
One can reasonably argue that the agency is not only targeting the gun community in its quest to crackdown on purported MVEs but is also incentivizing its workforce to find DVE cases where there are none.
“Another whistleblower—who led at least one high profile domestic terrorism investigation—stated that a field office Counterterrorism Assistant Special Agent in Charge and the FBI’s Director of the Counterterrorism Division have pressured agents to move cases into the DVE category to hit self-created performance metrics,” added Rep. Jordan in his letter.
“According to whistleblowers, the FBI uses these metrics to dispense awards and promotions. Every whistleblower has called it an environment of ‘pressure’ within the FBI,” wrote Jordan.
Hopefully, no law-abiding citizen finds themselves in the crosshairs of the surveillance state for simply exercising or supporting a fundamental right. But don’t count on it.
As we’ve recently witnessed, the ATF is going door to door in some states to conduct warrantless firearm inspections. What’s next??? Will the FBI start making the rounds when one flies the Gadsden Flag at a gun-rights rally or hangs a sign that says “Let’s Go Brandon“?
