TFB Podcast Roundup 62: Suppressor Science, and How to Shoot a Pistol
Welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 62. As we approach the end of the year, you can probably expect the firearms market to start to gear up for some of its biggest events and releases of the year. By the time you’re reading this TriggrCon 2022 will have just wrapped up and you can probably expect to see some posts this week from releases both myself and James Reeves discovered while at the event. Be sure to keep tabs here at TFB or on the YouTube channel TFBTV for updates from TriggrCon 2022. This week I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite podcasts I’ve been listening to while traveling these last couple of weeks. The most interesting podcast from this week’s roundup in my opinion is the one from the Talking Lead Podcast with John Hollister going over the science and history of firearm suppressors. If you’re even remotely interested in suppressors or their history that is one you shouldn’t miss this week, just be prepared to listen for multiple days as it’s two and a half hours long. So without further ado, please enjoy this week’s selection for TFB Podcast Roundup 62!

Talking Lead 454 – Silencer Science with John Hollister
In this episode of the Talking Lead Podcast we are keeping things quiet. Our topic is thefirearm silencer (a.k.a.; suppressor, sound moderator, can and muffler). Lefty’s special guest is the “Scientist of Silencers” John Hollister, National Commercial Sales Trainer for Sig Sauer. John “Leaducates” us on the history of the firearm silencer in America and the roll Hiram Percy Maxim and the Maxim family played in it’s modern day creation. We then get into the actual science that goes into the functionality of silencers, we discuss designs, materials, maintenance, the federal tax stamp and we bust some silencer myths.

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast Episode #43: Cerakote Talk with TFB Staff Writer Lucas D
On Today’s episode of the TFB Behind The Gun Podcast, we have TFB Staff Writer Lucas D. I met Lucas a number of years back during a trip out to Oregon, the home of many great optics companies. While I was there, I had the chance to chat with Lucas who has a ton of experience on both the retail firearm sales side of things as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of custom Cerakote jobs. If you’ve ever been interested in learning about the Cerakote process, how consistent results are achieved, and just how much work goes into making a repeatable product on a large scale, Lucas is here to explain the ins and outs of the entire process from start to finish. In addition, we talk a bit about how Lucas was hired on as a writer for TFB (hint: basically the same way as every other writer), as well as some of his opinions on the competitive shooting world that he’s invested in, as well as his thoughts on how his view on firearms has changed during his time within the industry as a reviewer of firearms. Please welcome TFB Staff Writer Lucas D to the show!
