Zastava Arms USA is the exclusive American importer of Serbia’s acclaimed AK-pattern rifles, as well as a number of other firearms models, such as the beastly .50-caliber bolt-action Black Arrow M93. TFB recently covered the teasing of a new M70 underfolder, and it appears that the rumors are true. The company’s social media has now officially announced the addition of a new no-gunsmithing-required underfolder stock kit to their product lineup.
Zastava Arms @ TFB:
The official product page lists these new underfolding stock kits at an MSRP of $229.99, on introductory sale at the time of this writing for $199.99. Their product description reads as follows.
The Zastava Arms USA Folding Stock Kit ( patent pending) is the best and only way to upgrade your fixed stock ZPAP to an underfolder without a gunsmith. The adaptor is made from a billet of 6061 aluminum, and the stock is steel. It is a quick, easy and efficient way to get your fixed stock rifle converted to an underfolder without any gunsmithing. The folding mechanism allows for the stock to fold with a 30rd magazine in place. Easily accessible QD mount allows you to attach your sling to the stock. The kit comes with all necessary hardware to mount it directly to the current fixed stock rear trunnion of your ZPAP. Fits Serbian/Yugo pattern, ZPAPM70, PAP M90 PS , O PAP ( rifles with 1.5mm receiver and the same rivet pattern as ZPAPM70s) . It will not fit the N-PAP (please standby for updates on this).
If you’re looking to convert your rifle to an underfolder without breaking the bank, this is the kit for you! The kit installs in minutes and will not require expensive gunsmithing fees or parts to get you set up. Utilizing the same rear trunnion means that the underfolder can be swapped out with a fixed stock, and vice versa, depending on your needs.
The kit has been put through function and stress testing to ensure it will hold up against the most strenuous of situations.
One of the nicest features of this stock is that it should be a super quick and easy installation process for just about any home-based ZPAP owner, requiring only a 3/16 hex wrench and no complex gunsmithing involved. Over the years, there have been more than a few fixed-stock PAP shooters asking for underfolder capability, and now our great Serbian friends have delivered us that capacity with ease. What do you think about these new kits? Will you be picking one up? Please let us know how it turns out in the comments below. See you at the range!
